The JTPS scenario

A Journey Through Planetary Space is an AddOn scenario for Chris Laurel´s 3D space simulator, Celestia. It is actually a major upgrade - V.2.0 - to the "Off on a Comet" AddOn, which were released early in 2004.

JTPS lets you visit and explore - in 3D - the worlds, places and events described in Jules Verne´s 1877 novel "Hector Servadac OR Off on a Comet: A journey through planetary space".

Downloading and installing JTPS

The AddOn comes in two flavours: a Light Version and a Full Version. The light one works well on most modern computers, the full one needs serious hardware. Download the one you prefer from one of the following sites:
NOTE: not all features described in this guide are present in both versions: the Light Version do not have summer and winter seasons or night lights, and lacks several surface locations.

Recommended system specs
  • Celestia 1.4 pre+ for Windows, OSX or Linux (required)
  • A graphics card with 64 MB VRAM or better
  • Preferrably 1GB RAM, though less will work
  • 157,5 MB free disk space for the light version
  • 922,5 MB free disk space for the full version (445 MB less if you don´t install the separate HiRes folder)
